It was with great excitement and anticipation on December 10th that staff and students took to the stage in Heartwood House’s winter production of Shrek!
From lighting and costumes, to props and the actors themselves, more than 30 members of the community contributed to putting on a wonderful adaptation of the hilarious Dreamworks animation. Taking place at the East Lane Theatre in Sudbury, the audience were treated to an afternoon of drama, comedy, a touch of romance, and more than a bit of slapstick entertainment.
As we can all imagine, it takes a significant amount of courage to perform in front of people, especially in front of a crowd that large, and we are so incredibly proud of how well all the students did. In addition, more than 150 cupcakes were baked, decorated and sold as part of a
refreshments offering, raising money for three charities of the students’ choice: Cats Protection, Great Ormond Street Hospital, and War Child.
A special thank you to Alison for overseeing the entire endeavour – we can’t wait for the next one!
