On the 13th of June both centres happily participated in the Camden Trip organised by Shannon, our PSHE teacher.
We left nice and early at 9:15 and the first part of the trip was to travel by the Metropolitan Line to Warwick Avenue.
From there, we had a gentle stroll to Little Venice. The weather was just right, the sun decided to make an appearance, and the students were excited and ready to reach our destination by narrow boat.
We embarked on the Browning’s Pool Waterbus just before 11:00 and we had a 45 minute long ride. The narrow boat was perfect for us, not too busy with 2 people seats on each side and big windows that allowed us to take in the canal and its surroundings. Our helmsman filled the time giving us all sorts of information about the different buildings that we were passing along the way and when we sailed near the London Zoo, we spotted a tiger on one side, and on the other, we saw the monkey enclosure where few of them were swinging on the branches.
The canal was very busy as well. We passed lots of narrow boats with other schools having an outing and each time we waved at the other boats, they waved back which was really cute.
We then arrived at Camden Lock, so full of colours, diverse stalls, interesting people and so many different options for the students and staff to choose for our lunch.
We decided on a meeting point and then we split up in small groups ready to explore and sample the lovely food on offer. Time passed quickly, but we all had the chance to have a good look around and some of us managed to squeeze in a little shopping too.
The last leg of our trip was the Junkyard Golf which is right in the middle of Camden Market.
The students were eager to start playing, so we collected our equipment and off we went to play a round of Crazy Golf. All the students engaged really well with the game and most importantly with each other creating a great atmosphere where everybody felt part of the group and had fun.
After that it was finally home time. We travelled by bus to Baker Street and then again on the Metropolitan Line back to Harrow.
We then said our goodbyes and everybody went back to their centres.
What a great day and what a successful trip!
